Kitten hoisted from Colorado sewer pipe with towel rope

AURORA, Colo., Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Fire crews and residents in a Colorado neighborhood helped rescue a kitten trapped in a sewer pipe.

Aurora Fire Rescue shared video of the rescue, as they arrived at the neighborhood on Friday to save the tiny kitten.

The resident who called the fire department told Denver7 she believed the tiny cat had been trapped down the pipe for at least 24 hours.

Fire crews lowered a rope made of towels about eight feet down into the pipe allowing the kitten to grab on and be raised up to safety.

The grateful kitten meowed loudly as it was raised out of the pipe, but no information on its owners were available.
