HAIPHONG, Vietnam, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- A simian resident of Vietnam's Monkey Island was filmed enjoying a refreshing Coca-Cola stolen from a tourist.

The video, filmed Friday on Monkey Island, off the coast of northern Vietnam's Cat Ba Island, shows a resident macaque monkey climbing a tree with a can of Coke stolen from a tourist.

The monkey, apparently familiar with can mechanics, swigs the sugary beverage as its jealous comrades watch.

Visitors to the island are warned not to feed the monkeys, but the primates are well-known to be thieves and will often steal food and beverages from tourists who are less than vigilant.
