Employee Erich Helmick said the store is still going through its inventory, but thus far the katana is the only item confirmed to be missing.
"The sword was the only thing we could make out well enough on the video to say for sure," Helmick told KTVA-TV.
Helmick said the man damaged the store at the point of entry, but he did not specify how the man broke into the store.
"It was one of our first priorities yesterday morning and within a few hours we had it fixed," he said. "The point of entry was the only damage we found."
The Anchorage Police Department is investigating the incident.
