Mischievous streaking squirrel interrupts NFL game

GREEN BAY, Wis., Nov. 8 (UPI) -- A squirrel caused a ruckus after running onto the field during a football game between the NFL's Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts.

The NFL's Twitter account tweeted a photo of the squirrel which darted across the turf at Lambeau Field in Green Bay during the third quarter of Colt's win over the Packers Sunday afternoon.

The daring squirrel made its way over to the Packers' sideline where photos show several mesmerized players attempting to lure the squirrel and trap it underneath their helmets.

Play was stopped temporarily as the squirrel sprinted through the visitor's end zone and evaded a stadium staff member who attempted to capture it with net, according to NFL.com.

The squirrel was last seen near a sideline tunnel after dazzling viewers with its speed, athleticism and evasiveness on the short run.
