EDMONTON, Alberta, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Animal control officers in Canada helped capture an escaped chicken found running loose in north Edmonton.
Edmonton Animal Care and Control Center shared video of an officer folding the chicken's head under its wings to simulate a sleeping state after capturing the fugitive fowl.
"If anyone is a fan of the Rocky movie, they will have seen Rocky, as part of his training, trying to chase a chicken." he said. "They zig and they zag and they run pretty fast. It really takes some skill."
Johnson said chickens are actually quite common in the area and their surprising speed can make it easy for owners to lose track of them.
"They run pretty fast," he said. "So if they let it out because it was a nice day, and it either got spooked or decided to go exploring, they can easily escape."
The chicken spent several days at the control center where Johnson determined it was in good health and was likely not loose for long.
