WASHINGTON, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- A brave duck rushed to the rescue of a chicken after a hawk attacked the helpless fowl as it rested in a backyard.
Video shared to Reddit shows the brave duck, named Felix, waddling over with its wings outstretched as the hawk swooped down toward the chicken.
Felix the duck then flew a short distance, lunging toward the hawk and thrusting its beak forward until the hawk eventually flew away.
Once it was freed from its attacker the chicken quickly scurried into the nearby coop for safety and was OK after the incident, according to its owner.
The owner said Felix and the chicken have lived together for three years and usually have a more coarse relationship.
