BOSTON, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- A father came up with a clever idea to allow his daughter to go trick-or-treating as they flew from Boston to San Francisco.

Stephanie Kahan, a passenger on the flight, shared photos of the young girl as she walked down the aisles of the plane.

"Dad of the year just passed out candy to everyone on the flight so his 3-year-old could trick-or-treat," she wrote.

The father, who requested to remain anonymous, also included a note explaining the situation with each piece of candy.

"My 3-year-old daughter, Molly, was bummed that she wouldn't be able to go trick-or-treating this year due to this flight...so I decided to bring trick-or-treating to her," the note read. "If you are willing, when my little donut comes down the aisle, please drop this in her basket. You'll be making her Halloween! If you're unwilling, no worries, just pass the treat back to me. Thanks so much!"

The dad's effort received several warm reactions from people on social media including Kahan who said her heart was "exploding" after reading the note.
