MERIDIAN, Idaho, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- A group of building contractors in Idaho tore down a pillar of a home being constructed when they discovered a cat was trapped inside.

A video recorded by contractor Stephan Beynun and posted to YouTube by his wife shows the builders sawing through the pillar at the site of the new home after one of the men heard a cat crying from inside the structure.

The builders said the cat was likely trapped inside the pillar for nearly two weeks.

"The builder was completely unaware that there was a cat hiding within the walls before enclosing the pillar and we were all happy to see it run free, towards its home!" the video's description reads.
