CLEARWATER, Fla., Oct. 19 (UPI) -- A Florida man taking his daily drive home from work was shocked when a 6-foot snake slithered from under his car's hood to the windshield.
Tim Mokwa posted a photo to Facebook showing the snake emerging from under the hood of his car and crawling up the windshield while he was driving to his Clearwater home Monday.
Mokwa, who also recorded a video once the vehicle was stopped, said the snake seemed to be trying to get into his car.
"This guy decides to pop his head out from under the hood. And tried to come in the window. About a 6 footer," he wrote. "That's only a little more than half of him in video."
Mokwa said he doesn't know what ultimately became of the snake.
"I rolled window up just in time. He was resting his head on the side view mirror for like 10 secs before he slithered around the hood. Still don't know if he fell off or went back under hood," Mokwa wrote.
Commenters suggested the snake was either a southern black racer snake or a venomous water moccasin, also known as a cottonmouth.
