HAMILTON, Bermuda, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- A Bermuda charter boat company shared photos of a "monster" 14-pound lobster unexpectedly caught by fishermen seeking red snapper.

Sanctuary Marine Bermuda said in a Facebook post its charter boat was out during the weekend when a shocked angler reeled in the mammoth lobster.

"Hurricane Nicole blew in some sea monsters," the Facebook post said, "14lb lobster, caught and released!"

"It was caught by accident on hook and line while fishing for snapper," the charter company said.

The company said the anglers considered taking the lobster to the local aquarium for display, but ended up releasing it back into the ocean "safe and sound."

Sanctuary Marine Bermuda posted a video to Facebook showing GoPro head-camera footage of the "giant spiny lobster catch and release."
