Trebuchet launches 1,300-pound pumpkin at Extreme Chunkin event

LOUDON, N.H., Oct. 17 (UPI) -- A giant trebuchet at New Hampshire's Extreme Chunkin pumpkin-destruction event was used to fling a 1,300-pound pumpkin, a car and a piano.

The weekend event at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway saw a variety of catapults, trebuchets, cannons and other pieces of weaponry used to destroy pumpkins in spectacular fashion.

A giant trebuchet called Yankee Siege proved to be the star attraction of Extreme Chunkin, with its operators using it to fling a car, a piano, a boat and a 1,300-pound pumpkin believed to be a record for heaviest pumpkin toss at a pumpkin chunkin event.
