LONGS, S.C., Oct. 14 (UPI) -- An alligator rescued from a South Carolina beach after Hurricane Matthew got a ride in a local wildlife removal expert's truck.

Russell Cavender, known as The Snake Chaser, shared video as he transported the 6-foot gator in the backseat of his truck.

Chaser taped the gator's mouth as he transported it to safety in his truck after Hurricane Matthew struck the area.

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources called Cavender to relocate the gator which was displaced by the storm and was spotted emerging from the ocean on Wednesday, according to The State.

"Another wayward gator on the ocean," Cavender said as he encouraged the gator to "say hi" to the camera.
