ANN ARBOR, Mich., Oct. 10 (UPI) -- A Michigan steak house was forced to issue a clarification when a promised promotion tied to the University of Michigan nearly led to 78 percent discounts.

Ruth's Chris Steak House in Ann Arbor announced prior to Saturday night's game between UM and Rutgers University that they would offer discounts based on Michigan's margin of victory.

"Example: Michigan beats Rutgers by 20 points, your discount would be 20 percent off your food the following Sunday through Thursday," the restaurant said in a Facebook post.

The eatery edited the post with a clarification Saturday after Michigan delivered a shocking 78-0 victory.

The restaurant said the promotional discounts were capped at 50 percent, so no 78 percent discounted meals would be offered.

The somewhat reduced discount still proved to be an effective draw, with Ruth's Chris Steak House announcing Sunday it was booked through Thursday with "Score Big promotion" reservations "with no additional availability."
