DURAND, Wis., Oct. 4 (UPI) -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation shared video of the rescue of an injured eagle found struggling on a stretch of road.

The department said in a Facebook post a Wisconsin State Patrol trooper and a Pepin County Sheriff's Deputy responded to the scene on U.S. 10 on Sept. 30 when an injured eagle was reported in the road.

The deputy and trooper were able to keep the bird of prey clear from the road before a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources wildlife biologist arrived and safely captured it.

The bird was taken to the Eagle Center in Wabasha, Minn., for treatment.
