"He's certainly the largest Brown snake I have ever tangled with!" Lewis wrote. "This has to be one of my most favourite relocations as it's satisfying to know that such large specimens still exist!"
Lewis added that the Eastern Brown's are "undeserving" of their reputation as one of Australia's most dangerous snakes.
"Rumor has it that they will actively chase down people just to bite them," he said. "As snake catchers we have had many more encounters than the average person with these snakes and we can positively say this is just not the case!"
Despite the misconception, Lewis said Eastern Browns are highly defensive and "have no qualms in defending themselves" leading to a large number of reported bites.
