MANDEVILLE, La., Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Sheriff's deputies in Louisiana said they were called to a highway for a "jaywalker who refused to move" -- a large alligator.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post driver Sara Poynot called authorities about 4 a.m. Tuesday to report an alligator blocking the road on Highway 190 near Fontainebleau State Park.

The sheriff's office said Poynot reported the gator "stared her down and refused to move out of the roadway."

"When the gator realized Ms. Poynot called STPSO, he fled on foot into a nearby marshy area," the post said. "The gator is now wanted for questing about the incident and may face charges if he is caught!"

Poynot posted a video of the moment the gator "finally decided to move."
