WASHINGTON, Aug. 24 (UPI) -- A hamster stepped into the world of the Super Mario Bros. video game series by attempting to navigate a real world replica of the game's first stage.

YouTube user yutako55 shared video of the hamster walking along a replica of "World 1-1" from the original Super Mario Bros.

The diorama came complete with enemies such as "Goombas" and "Piranha Plants," the trademark power up mushroom and even a tiny Mario hat for the hamster to wear.

Music from the game played in the background as the hamster explored the area, which included a secret pipe which led back to the beginning of the stage.

After spending time sniffing the hat and slightly bending the games rules by walking off the side of the stage, the hamster was ultimately able to reach the flag at the end of the stage prompting the level clear music to play.
