HUMPTY DOO, Australia, Aug. 22 (UPI) -- Authorities in Australia said they are searching for four suspects accused of setting three crocodiles loose in a school office.

Northern Territory police said security camera footage from Taminmin College in Humpty Doo, near Darwin, shows the suspects dropping the three saltwater crocs into the office through a broken window early Sunday morning.

The footage shows the four suspects, believed to be young men, enter the building with their faces covered after dropping the crocs through the window. The men ransacked the office before leaving.

Senior Constable David Gregory said the crocodiles were captured by a ranger and are being given veterinary care.

"The ranger that turned up was very concerned for them -- they had their mouths taped up," Gregory told the Australian Broadcasting Corp. "They haven't seen water for a long time and are undernourished."

Police are working to identify the men, who could each face animal cruelty fines of nearly $40,000.

The largest of the three crocodiles measured more than 6 feet long.
