KAKADU NATIONAL PARK, Australia, Aug. 22 (UPI) -- A group of tourists driving through an Australian park were brought to a halt by a crocodile that insisted on crossing a bridge before them.

The video, filmed Thursday, shows a car of tourists approach the bridge over Kakadu National Park's Alligator River, which the filmer said was named by someone who didn't know the difference between crocodiles and alligators.

One of the river's signature animals, a crocodile, approaches the side of the bridge as the car approaches and manages to climb onto the roadway, forcing the tourists to wait.

The crocodile takes its time crossing, eventually climbing into the water on the other side of the bridge.
