"A Yandina mechanic got a pretty big fright when he found this during what should have been a routine service," Sunshine Coast snake catcher Max wrote.

The carpet python was estimated to be about eight feet long and was likely drawn by the warm temperature of the engine.

"This large Carpet Python had seen the opportunity to stay warm within this engine bay and decided to take it!" Max wrote.
