Mother bear rescues three cubs from waterfall at Alaskan park

KATMAI NATIONAL PARK, Alaska, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- A mama bear at an Alaskan park was dubbed "mother of the year" when a wildlife camera captured her rescuing her three cubs from a waterfall.

A video posted to Facebook by the nonprofit Explore.org shows a clip from the 24-hour bear camera at the top of Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park.

A mother bear nicknamed Grazer by the nonprofit appears to be hunting salmon at the top of the falls when one of her cubs is swept away by the water and carried over the waterfall.

Grazer runs into action as her other two cubs go over the fall, running around to the water below and swimming out to pull them to safety.

"And the Mother of the Year award goes to... Grazer!!! All 3 of her cubs ended up going over the falls, thankfully they are all OK!" the post said.
