"I took two steps in and his head was literally right there," Dallmer said. "It was a little nerve-wracking."
Fulshear police responded to the scene and called in a wrangling service to remove the gator.
"It was a big one. We were surprised by how big it was," Fulshear police Capt. Mike McCoy told KPRC-TV.
The alligator was removed by R6 Outfitters, but the large animal refused to go quietly.
"As he tried to put the noose on him, he was hissing and biting," Dallmer told KTRK-TV. "He became very violent."
Police said alligator removal calls are common in Fulshear, but this case was unusual.
"It's unique for an alligator this size. This alligator is quite big," McCoy said.
The alligator was transported to an area refuge.
"I'm thankful he wasn't hungry when I walked out the garage," Dallmer said.
