A California family spotted a bear swimming in their backyard pool as it looked to escape the summer heat. Arcadia Police shared the video of the bear and provided tips for handling wildlife encounters.

"One of our residents spotted this visitor in their pool for a morning swim," they wrote. "Please do call us if you encounter wildlife in your yards or neighborhoods."
Police also shared a Facebook post encouraging residents to "Be Bear Aware!" of bears and other wildlife in the foothill community and shared tips for how to handle wild animal encounters.
"The majority of the time, the animals will venture off without trouble, but we like to keep tabs on their actions," police wrote.
