Sandwich-hauling squirrel steals spotlight from one-legged seagull

MONTREAL, July 20 (UPI) -- A Canadian man excitedly filming a seagull with only one leg ended up capturing footage of a squirrel carrying an entire pita sandwich up a tree.

David Freiheit posted a video to YouTube that begins with footage of a one-legged seagull hopping through a public park.

The seagull takes off flying, and Freiheit's focus shifts to a nearby squirrel nibbling on a pita sandwich.

The squirrel notices it's being watched and runs up a nearby tree, taking the sandwich with it.

"No, I did not give this to the squirrel," Freiheit wrote.
