The sign outside CUPS Coffee & Tea in the Grandin Village district of Roanoke went viral after a photo of the sign was shared on Reddit. Advertisement The sign reads: "Small coffee" $5.00 "Small coffee, please" $3.00 "Hello, one small coffee please." $1.75 The sign was created Sunday by cafe worker Austin Simms. "I decided because I need to solve all the injustices of the world to start charging more for people who didn't take the time to say hello and connect and realize we're all people behind the counter," Simms told WDBJ-TV. CUPS Coffee & Tea owner Olivia Byrd confirmed the pricing on the sign is only meant as a joke and no one has been charged $5 for a small coffee.
