Man uses drone to 3D map abandoned Scottish mansion

Scottish YouTube user Mark of Abandoned Scotland used his drone and photo scanning software to create a 3D map of the Cambusnethan House in North Lanarkshire. He flew his Phantom 3 Professional drone to take photos of the property, using a program to plot its path, then combined the images into a 3D map.

NORTH LANARKSHIRE, Scotland, July 8 (UPI) -- A Scottish man used his drone and photo scanning software to create a 3D map of an abandoned mansion.

Mark from YouTube channel Abandoned Scotland shared video of the drone flight, which he used to map out the Cambusnethan House in North Lanarkshire.

Video shows the Phantom 3 Professional drone descending on the property as Mark used a program known as Drone Deploy to set the drone on a specific path to capture photos of the mansion.

Mark then used Agisoft Photoscan software to compile the individual photos to create a 3D model of the Cambusnethan House.
