Man shares photo of him 'catching Pokemon' as his wife prepares to gives birth

WASHINGTON, July 8 (UPI) -- A man took time to "catch a Pokemon" in a smartphone game while he waited for his wife to give birth.

Reddit user Jonathan Theriot shared a screenshot from the newly released mobile game "Pokemon GO" showing an augmented reality Pokemon apparently sitting near a hospital bed as his wife prepared for a c-section delivery.

"When your wife is about to have a baby and Pokemon shows up and you have to low-key catch it..." Theriot wrote.

While some questioned Theriot for playing the game during the childbirth he confirmed that his wife supported how he chose to pass the time as they waited for their third child.

"I'm lucky enough to have a wife that supports my Pokemon lifestyle," he said. "She drew the line at me wandering around the hospital searching for more. At least until the baby is out!"
