"After a few days of additional patrols, officers saw a man taking eggs from a female loggerhead sea turtle as she was laying them," they wrote. "They immediately arrested the man, who was in possession of 107 eggs."

A total of 15 eggs were held for evidence and DNA testing while FWC reburied the remaining 92 in hopes that they will hatch later.

The man found with the eggs was jailed and faces a third-degree felony charge, according to FWC.
