One of the drivers was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Footage from the scene shows the roadway littered with bread and cold cuts after the crash.
"Now, it's not lost on us that bread and lunch meat collided on the highway. We don't know what the odds are of this happening, but the only thing that could have made this stranger is an additional truck hauling mustard and pickles," the state police said in a Facebook post. "Anyway, the troops did not make roadside sandwiches, but we can't help but think this is an omen of some kind."
"What could this mean? If you have an idea, let us know in the comments. In the meantime, if a truck carrying salsa crashes into a truck carrying corn chips, you'd better run for the hills!" the post said.
