CEDAR KEY, Fla., June 17 (UPI) -- A boater in the Gulf of Mexico plucked a sea turtle out of the water when it was found to be tangled in fishing line with a pole still attached.

The turtle is tangled in fishing line that is still connected to a pole. The man cuts the line to free it.

'We were going back to the spot from where we had drifted from when we saw the top of a fishing rod sticking up out of the water," the uploader wrote. ''We came up to it and saw something next to it. It moved and took the rod with it, that's when we realized it was a sea turtle attached to it. My dad pulled the struggling turtle out of the water and cut it free. It wasn't bleeding so we released the sea turtle back into the sea."
