NORTHALLERTON, England, June 17 (UPI) -- A British fire department shared photos from the rescue of a cow that somehow ended up with its head trapped inside a tree.
North Yorkshire Fire posted photos to Twitter showing the cow as it was discovered by a Northallerton-based crew that responded to the scene Sunday.
Officials said the crew used a chainsaw, a circular saw and hand tools to expand the hole in the tree large enough for the cow's head to be extracted.
A photo shows the cow, which was sedated by a veterinarian during the rescue, walking free in a field after its head was removed from the tree.
