Rivera seemed to shock the crowd, and the show's announcers, by making it past multiple difficult obstacles despite the size of his costume.
T. Rex's run came to an end on the swinging rings, where he plunged into the water, but he made an encore appearance to successfully tackle the final obstacle, the warped wall.
Rivera said he was happy to bring people joy after a difficult week marred by Sunday's deadly shooting an Orlando nightclub.
"Many people have said this video has brought them a lot of light and happiness in this dark time for our country," he told the New York Daily News. "To those affected by the attack, I can only hope that this video may lift your spirits and take your mind away from the pain if only just for a moment."
