TACOMA, Wash., June 15 (UPI) -- A couple out for a walk on a Washington state beach found they were soon joined by an octopus taking a leisurely stroll through the sand.

The video shows the juvenile giant Pacific octopus using its tentacles to slowly walk toward the water at a Tacoma beach.

"It was making pretty good headway, though there were seagulls nearby," the uploader wrote.

The man said he and his wife became concerned when the octopus started to slow down after the video ended, so they used a pair of sticks to help carry the cephalopod to the water, where it swam away.
