Hitchhiking black bear panics family by opening car door

WASHINGTON, June 8 (UPI) -- A family stopping to take in some wildlife sped away when their car door was opened by an insistent hitchhiker: a black bear.

The video, posted to YouTube by user Nature Captures, shows a family stopped on a road to take photos of a black bear.

"The bear's right next to us," a boy's voice can be heard saying, while the father takes photos from the passenger seat.

The family's fascination quickly turns to screaming as the bear reaches out and opens the car door.

"Stop screaming," the annoyed mother can be heard saying as she drives away from the attempted stowaway.
