JIM CORBETT NATIONAL PARK, India, June 8 (UPI) -- A monkey at an Indian national park made a fool out of a tree-climbing tiger by luring the big cat to the weak branches and causing it to fall to the ground.

The video shows a tiger pursuing a monkey in a tree May 11 at Jim Corbett National Park and the much larger predator makes slow and methodical progress up the tree in the apparent quest to turn the small primate into a snack.

The tiger stops when the tree begins to droop beneath it and observers can be heard snapping pictures of the stand-off between the two animals.

The monkey ends the face off by quickly scurrying around the tree's branches, reclaiming the high ground and sending the tiger off-balance.

The big cat clings to a branch to the best of its ability, but ends up humiliated when it drops to the ground, leaving the savvy simian looking down at it from high above.
