Photo-snapping tourist thrown several feet by Yellowstone elk

CASPER, Wyo., June 1 (UPI) -- A Yellowstone National Park visitor captured video of another park-goer being charged and thrown several feet by an elk while a ranger tried to tell her to back off.

A video posted to Facebook by Jody Tibbitz shows a woman getting too close to an elk at the park while a ranger can be heard trying to get her attention.

The elk charges at the woman and bucks her about 25 feet from where she had been standing.

"I was just going to tell you you're too close to that elk, and that's why!" the ranger says after the woman gets back up from the ground. "Twenty-five feet!"

"It won't happen again," the woman replies.

"I'm sure it won't," the ranger says, "That won't happen again, I guarantee it."
