Great white shark repeatedly attacks diving cage in South Africa

GANSBAAI, South Africa, April 28 (UPI) -- A tourist cage-diving in South Africa captured underwater footage of a great white shark attacking the bars in an attempt to feast on the human flesh inside.

The footage, filmed April 7 off the coast of Gansbaai, begins with the shark shoving its nose through the bars of the cage in an apparent attempt to reach its terrified occupants.

The shark backs away and swiftly returns to try breaking through the cage from other angles.

The divers can be heard screaming in the footage, but the cage withstood the attack and no injuries were reported.

"It touched me!" an excited woman can be heard shouting after returning to the surface.

The shark continues to stalk the boat for a few moments after the divers have returned to safety.
