Menacing monkey steals cellphone from tourist's hand

LEHAN, China, April 27 (UPI) -- A tourist filming herself feeding monkeys in China learned a costly lesson when one of the primates grabbed the smartphone from her hand and ran off with it.

Video filmed by a fellow tourist in Leshan, Sichuan Province, on April 14 shows the young woman holding out food to some monkeys with one hand while holding her phone in the other hand.

The footage shows one particularly large and bold monkey approach the woman and take the food from her hand.

The primate then swiftly swipes the woman's smartphone and runs back into the woods, leaving the now phone-less woman in a state of amused shock.
