TOSCOLANO-MADERNO, Italy, April 20 (UPI) -- An acrobatic paraglider practicing tricks in the sky over Italy averted disaster by landing in a lake when his wing malfunctioned.

A video posted to YouTube by user flyhigh shows the "acro paraglider" practicing spin tricks in the sky over Toscolano-Maderno when one of his wings experiences a malfunction.

The glider opens his reserve chute and makes a safe landing in a lake.

"He didn't have enough altitude to land on terrain," the video's description explains.
