WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., April 14 (UPI) -- A cameraman shooting B-roll outside a Florida Walmart for a local news station captured the moment a suspect who overdosed on heroin escaped from an ambulance.

Matthew Law, a photojournalist for WPEC-TV, tweeted he was shooting some B-roll for an unrelated story outside the Walmart store on 45th St. in West Palm Beach while a man was being loaded into an ambulance Wednesday afternoon.

Police said the man had been found unconscious from a suspected heroin overdose in the Walmart's bathroom and had been given a dose of Narcan, a drug designed to counter the effects of opioid overdose.

Law's video shows the man initially seeming calm on the stretcher, but when paramedics prepare to load him into the ambulance he throws off the strap holding him in place and makes a run for it.

Law turned and filmed as the man fled on foot, leaving the baffled paramedics in his wake.

Police said they searched the area for the man, but were unable to locate him. It was unclear whether police intended to charge him with a crime.
