GOLD COAST, Australia, April 12 (UPI) -- An Australian fishing charter company shared video of a blue marlin jumping onto the back of a fishing boat and nearly impaling a deckhand.
Mufasa Sport Fishing Charters posted a video to Facebook and YouTube showing the footage recorded recently by the charter boat's on-board GoPro camera.
The video shows a blue marlin surprising the three men in the back of the boat by jumping up onto the vessel and nearly impaling a deckhand.
The man deflects the marlin with a pole and evades injury.
"Another ripper day onboard Mufasa Sportfishing during the Blue Marlin Bash off the Gold Coast, Queensland with a Blue Marlin jumping into the back of the boat and just about tagging the decky. Luckily no one was injured and 10 points to the Mufasa Sportfishingcrews commitment," the Facebook post reads.
