JUPITER, Fla., April 8 (UPI) -- A Florida paddleboarder with a camera mounted to the front of his board captured his collision with a spinner shark that jumped out of the water.

Maximo Trinidad posted a video to YouTube showing the footage from his Thursday paddleboard outing with a "spinner encounter" near Corners Beach, off Carlin Park in Jupiter.

The video shows Trinidad riding the waves with other paddleboarders nearby when he suddenly collides with a spinner shark that jumped out of the water.

Trinidad is knocked off his board, but he climbs back on, laughing and apparently uninjured.

"As soon as I saw that big beautiful animal jumping next to me, everything went into slow motion.  I didn't want to be on top of it and think I was a fish.  Everything was so surreal.  It was so cool," Trinidad told WPTV.

The paddleboarder said the incident was not his first encounter with a jumping shark.

"On one occasion, [a shark] jumped on my left side again, 2 feet next to me, almost at eye level, and that was impressive. There was a group of surfers next to me looking at it with big eyes," he said.
