TOKYO, April 7 (UPI) -- A business in Japan is capitalizing on the trend of animal cafes by providing patrons the opportunity to interact with hedgehogs.

The country's first-ever hedgehog cafe "Harry" offers guests the opportunity to play with hedgehogs for a cost of $9 an hour on weekdays and $12 an hour on weekends.

"We wanted to show people the charm of hedgehogs, which give the impression of being hard to handle. We wanted to get rid of that image by letting people touch them," staff member Mizuki Murata said.

The cafe holds 20-30 hedgehogs of different breeds, which are commonly kept as pets in the country.
