NEW YORK, April 1 (UPI) -- A slaughterhouse-bound cow made a mad dash for freedom Friday in New York and paid a visit to the campus of York College in Queens.
The New York Police Department said the "vicious animal" escaped from a slaughterhouse in the Jamaica neighborhood about 10 a.m. Friday and ended up on the campus of nearby York College.
A City University of New York spokeswoman said slaughterhouse staff members were able to recapture the cow after about 20 minutes on the York campus.
A cow dubbed Freddy escaped a Jamaica slaughterhouse in January and took a brief run around Queens before being recaptured. Freddy was later rescued from the slaughterhouse by a man who runs a shelter in New Jersey.
