SOUTHPORT, Australia, March 31 (UPI) -- A clip of an Australian reporter is going viral after a runaway parrot landed on her shoulder and sent her into a panic while she was preparing to deliver a live report.

Brittney Kleyn, a 9News court reporter, was preparing to deliver a live report Tuesday outside the Southport Courthouse in Queensland when a South American parrot flew in from parts unknown and perched itself on Kleyn's shoulder.

The bird's sudden forced shoulder snuggle led Kleyn to scream, curse and plead with her camera operator for help.

"It's not funny!" Kleyn yelled while trying to shoo away the parrot.

Kleyn's cameraman eventually removed the bird from her shoulder.

The story has a happy ending -- the viral footage came to the attention of Michelle Mills, who had been searching for her missing parrot, Lola.

Mills suggested the women's similar hairstyles confused the colorblind bird.

The 9News crew was able to reunite Lola with her grateful owner.

Kleyn said she and Lola have made amends and are now "getting along much better."
