PORT VILA, Vanuatu, March 24 (UPI) -- A snorkeler in the South Pacific took a GoPro camera under the water, where it apparently offended a territorial fish that decided to attack the camera.

The video, filmed Monday in the waters off Mystery Island in Vanuatu, shows a curious fish investigating the man and his GoPro before deciding to attack the camera.

"While snorkeling off Mystery Island, I felt something attacking my flipper," the filmer wrote. "I turned around to see what it was and this small black fish started darting in and out of its coral hideaway and attacking my GoPro."

"I'm not sure what type of fish it was, but it was very tenacious, so after a short while I left it alone," he wrote.
