Dog hit by car ends up trapped under the hood with only minor injuries

CHONGQING, China, March 23 (UPI) -- A dog struck by a fast-moving car in China was found lodged inside the car's front grille with only minor injuries and was rescued by police.

Footage of the rescue in Chongqing shows the aftermath of the dog being struck by a car Thursday in the fast lane of a major roadway.

The driver, Mr. Liu, pulled over to the side of the road after hitting the animal and discovered there was barking coming from under the hood of his car.

Police were called to the scene and officers were eventually able to extract the dog from inside the car and discovered the canine had sustained only minor injuries from its ordeal.
