BRISBANE, Australia, March 23 (UPI) -- An Australian burglar made a comical series of errors while attempting to rob a local business before leaving empty handed.

Queensland police shared CCTV footage of the incompetent burglar, accompanied by a Mission Impossible-style song, as he used a rope to drop down from the ceiling into the business.

"It is alleged a male offender has entered the business from the roof and lowered "mission impossible" style by a rope tied to his foot," police wrote in a release. "Upon landing on a desk within the business, the male offender has tripped on the rope causing him to stumble and fall heavily to the floor."

Video shows the man's shoe falling off as he enters the room, he then takes several seconds to put the shoe back on before continuing to move about the room.

He then circles about the room briefly before attempting to make his escape through the ceiling, without placing any property in his bag. His streak of ineptitude continues, as he accidentally pulls down a ceiling panel while attempting to pull himself up before finally making his escape.

Police are seeking information on the attempted robbery and urge citizens to contact local Crime Stoppers.
