HELSINKI, Finland, March 22 (UPI) -- A European man tested the strength of a hockey puck by attempting to crush it with a hydraulic press.

YouTube user Hydraulic Press Channel set out to see if a hockey puck could withstand the force of the machine in the aptly titled video "Crushing hockey puck with hydraulic press."

The narrator begins the video by revealing that his wife doesn't believe the press can crush the small black disk, but he stands firm in his belief in the machine.

The machine flattens the puck out immediately leaving its edges curled up around the top of the press. The puck then holds steady for a few seconds after the initial impact before the immense amount of pressure causes it to burst.

After the experiment is complete, the narrator and his wife chuckle at the result as he contemplates purchasing "some kind of blast shield" for future experiments.
