Doughnut stuffed with xanax delivered to NJ school

BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP, N.J., March 22 (UPI) -- A doughnut filled with Xanax pills was delivered to a New Jersey high school's main office, according to police.

Police said a brown paper bag containing the doughnut, stuffed with six Xanax pills, was left at Bordentown Regional High School's main office, as lunch for one of the school's senior students.

Bordentown Township police said school officials suspected the lunch could contain drugs or other contraband and conducted a search. They discovered a small plastic bag inside the doughnut hole containing the Xanax pills.

Police said both parties involved in the incident on Wednesday were arrested and charged with drug possession and distribution.

Brian Perry Jr., 21, was released on $2,500 bail after being arrested for delivering the drugs, according to police.

The recipient, 18-year-old Ilker Ceylan, was arrested on Sunday when police say they found him at a traffic stop with marijuana in his vehicle. He received an additional charge for marijuana possession, according to police.

"School officials should be commended for their quick actions which prevented these dangerous substances from being smuggled into the school," police Chief Frank Nucera Jr. said. "These arrests are a perfect example of the strong partnership between the members of the Police Department and the staff of the Bordentown Regional School District."
